Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Impressed Bought one of these on sale in early Spring and finally took it out to use it 3 weeks later. About 50 feet into the first cut, the front wheel drive failed. After running through customer service and all the possible troubleshooting procedures, it was determined that it would need to be taken to the nearest service center, which was over 30 miles away. Fortunately, the manager at the big box store where we purchased the mower was sympathetic to our issue and, despite the sales receipt being past due the store's limit, took our 'lemon' in exchange for a new one. The second mower runs perfectly; everything I was expecting from Cub Cadet, and should receive 5 stars. However, I am deducting two stars for the first one failing almost immediately, likely a failure of quality control, and having to deal with a return.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatest lawnmower I have ever owned! This Mower has it all, 4X4 drive, mulching, bagging, right side discharge, plenty of power and excellent controls! I have an uneven and hilly lawn with plenty of obstacles and the mower conquers them all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a beast! Awesome I was apprehensive about spending $500 on a push mower but as I have a huge amount to cut that can not be done with a rider as well as incredibly think fast growing grass I took the plunge. This mower is amazing. The grip of the rear wheels to the ground is fantastic as it blows through this high think grass as well doesn't leave any clumps (not sure how it does that). My previous mower weren't ever able to accomplish this even with the grass not as tall as it was. I was just amazing how it plowed through this heavy stuff without missing a beat. I wasn't sure how helpful it would be to be able to control the front and rear wheels independently with the self-propelled feature but it was which leads me to my ONLY less than positive point and that is the lever for the rear wheel control even in loosening it as much as I could was still too tight which tended to make my right hand cramp a little. I do a lot of work outside, have strong hands and it still was tough squeezing that for a prolonged period of time. So I came to the conclusion that I only used the rear lever when I really needed to, thus not a big deal. Considering that it has this self-propelled feature on the front and back I figured that it would be heavy or problematic pulling it back, going in reverse when needed but when you're not using the self-propelled feature it goes into neutral basically with no resistance meaning you don't feel at all like you're dragging back a bunch of dead weight. I never had an electric start before, liked that too. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to bring it back from the store in the trunk of my BMW being fairly small but it came out of the box in one piece and slid right in there, surprised and impressed not to mention that all things considered how light it was getting out of my trunk which I was able to do myself. Summary, $500 was a lot but worth every penny, got a nice look about it as well, kinda felt like I was keeping up with the Jones.
