Rated 4 out of 5 by from A high quality snow blower I recently purchased this snowblower for my property in the Tug Hill region of NY. We get tremendous amounts of Lake Effect snow up there every winter. I have only used it once, mostly to clear the end of my driveway where the county plow had pushed in a good amount of wet snow. It cleared it nicely. As other people have reported, the reverse speeds are too slow but the forward speeds are plenty fast. This is a very well built machine. Very little plastic. The chute is solid metal and everything is heavy duty. The chute turns 180 degrees with only 2 or 3 cranks from the very conveniently placed and solidly built handle. No cheap plastic indentations that fail like on cheaper machines. Headlights and heated grips are definitely a nice touch. Machine turns on a dime with the directional controls under the handles. Could throw snow a little further but maybe it will when I actually have higher piles to throw. Anyway, would definitely recommend this machine to anyone who deals with major snowfalls.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Under-powered and weak performance I purchased this last year after the city piled 4 feet of snow in front of my driveway. I was inspired by the promo video of the guy bursting thru a huge snow drift. After the first use I noticed issues right away. It seemed to not throw snow well at all and the engine lunged oddly. It had issues even removing 3-4 inches of snow! Plus, the tracks just slip and I end up pushing it forward. The steering didn’t work well and I have to push it over to turn. I took it back to the Tractor Supply and they sent it in for service. I guess the carburetor was faulty and they replaced it. They found no issues with the tracks I guess as they were in spec with the factory. I got to use it for the first time back from service today as we received 7-9 inches of snow – depending on who you talk with – and at least the engine doesn’t lunge. The point is: This thing doesn’t blow snow. It jams or wants to climb up on the drifts instead of removing them. The tracks do not grip the ground and I have a sore back now because of the tracks not working correctly. I saw a guy with a snow blower that had to be at least 20 years old working just fine chewing thru a similar drift and wondering if he was laughing at me while watching me struggle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great in Florida, perhaps. But it can't blow snow Unit was delivered with wiring harness unconnected. I have used my machine 4 times - and filed 3 repair complaints. It won't blow snow if over about 6" - half to run only 1/2 to 1/3 chute width. And, not at all if snow is even slightly wet. Even with a 6" snow fall and using only 1/3 chute width, I still break 2-3 shear pins each use. Shear pins are the biggest expense. Tracks don't work in loose surfaces (like snow) - they just spin. Unit doesn't turn well - right track in particular doesn't move the machine. On 4th time using it (less than 2 months after delivery), the impeller belt broke. That belt is supposed to last 5-7 years. Company doesn't answer phone at the customer service number, nor do they respond to emails, or web inquiries. This unit would look great sitting on a driveway in Tampa, Florida or Dallas, Texas. But it is useless in snow country - it can't move and it can't blow snow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from none needs carb work every year but can work on it by myself because of cover on carb.you need to take half of the front of the snow blower off to get at one bolt, they make it that way so you have to bring it in to fix it.i would never buy anything from cubit is a P.O.S

Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUNK The power steering quit working, Had to replace augers to pull in the snow. Now the lift that changes to amount of pressure for the different types of snow came a part. I had a Sears snowblower or over 20 years with NO problems.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful I bought this snowblower last year for the tracks and the height adjustment to use on a gravel driveway. Let's start with the pro -Heated hand grips Now for the cons -Pull start is useless for this motor you need to plug it in and use the starter, and it still takes time to start after backfiring. -Tracks ride over snow drifts and not through them, and spin in the snow most of the time. -Steering works on the right handle only and the left handle occasionally. -Reverse 1 moves the unit forward, Reverse 2 travels maybe .2 miles per hour and you wind up pulling this behemoth backwards until your back gives out. -3 stage chute clogs constantly and when it isn't clogged it throws the snow maybe two feet. I did sell a Cub 528SWE 2 stage that I owned for 6 years. The downside it would pick up gravel and launch it wherever the chute was facing but it worked great. I own other cub products that work just fine unfortunately this one is a huge miss. It is for sale!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality construction, powerful engine. I relied on Consumer Reports for this purchase. They rate all Cub Cadet models well. I bought the trac model because of big snow banks left by street plow and icy layers over snow that often occur where I clear snow. As well I clear unpaved surfaces. I noticed more points of weight distribution with trac models. The 26" and 30" Trac models utilize the same trac system with same intake height , so that's a bonus too as 26" weighs less. The unit starts right up on 1st pull, have not used electric start. It cleared an 8" storm quickly. The handle warmers and 3 headlights work well. Trac models aren't easy to move when not running, But are easy to move when running. Assembly is simple but CubCadet should post videos on youtube for the simple assembly instead of vague manual for numerous models. The shipping box needs to be stronger, it was all apart when delivered to house.
