Excellent value
I picked this log splitter because it had a Honda engine, could split both vertically and horizontally, wasn't too big to handle and was offered by a good brand name, Cub Cadet. The log splitter was easy to assemble and started on the first pull. The Honda engine was not as quiet as I expected but reasonable. I did contact Cub Cadet support with a few minor questions and they were very helpful. I haven't used it for a full season yet but after a month or so I do not anticipate any problems as it appears well built.

A workhorse!
Bought fhis 8 months ago. Runs and splits great. After splitting 5 cords of wood only weak BYU’s cradle: wood slips in the gap and pushes cradle out, popping bolt heads. A poor design that engineers could/should correct.

Fantastic Unit
Works great! Lots of power, the only complaint I have is that the idle is erratic and it makes a weird whining noise when idling, but it splits the heck out of a log!

Great Machine
I purchased the 25-ton Honda powered log splitter from the local Cub Cadet dealer, State Sharpening. I always attempt to support a local distributor. The machine was delivered by the dealer to my garage and came fully assembled.
The only initial reservation I had was that the machine might be difficult to move around the yard. With my adult son to assist, we were able to easily maneuver it around the backyard. The Honda engine started on the first pull.
Today, we split 20” to 24” rounds from an oak tree that was cut down about a year ago.
This machine is a beast. It went through the largest and knottiest rounds with no issue.

Excellent and powerful splitter!
I've had this splitter going on 2 years and it has never failed to do everything I need it to. I've split 24'' to 26'' 18'' logs with it. The Honda engine is very easy to start and typically starts with 1-2 pulls.
The only thing I feel this splitter needs is a handle on the hydraulic cylinder to raise and lower the splitter from horizontal to vertical so I don't have to use the hydraulic line at the top of the cylinder that may damage it later on. This really should be addressed by the manufacturer!

There was a little more assembly for me to perform than I would have liked , but all and all I like the performance, sturdy but easy to handle. The Honda engine was the deal maker for me, but big complaint is the orientation of the engine to the machine fill/draincap is in a very hard to access location , and I believe I have to either unbolt the engine or tip the machine on its side to drain. What knuclehead designed that?

New owner
My new splitter did everything I hoped it would do. I bought it at home depot, all I had to do was add gasoline and pull the starter rope once and split over two cords of oak. It is time for me to change the engine oil and after I read both manuals I discovered that I have to turn the 500 pound Cub Cadet 25 ton log splitter on its side to drain the oil. I really hope that I have read the manuals wrong. I am sure Cub Cadet would think more of their customers than that. If anyone has a better answer please e-mail me.

Horrible Product
I bought this just 2 months ago and I have rubbed it 3 times and today the cheap hydraulic hose set up blew off and sprayed hot hydraulic fluid all over me. The factory does an extremely poor job on this set up.
