Rated 2 out of 5 by from 3-stage with 12 inch auger and plugs up constantly The 357 is sufficient for lighter jobs but the 420 is best for heavy work. The 3 stage and 12 inch auger constantly plug up when in wet snow and the chute also plugs up because its to narrow. Otherwise in good snow it performs great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love the power steering first season with new snow blower live up in gateway to adirondacks and this machine is a beast no matter what type of snow or wind row in front of driveway from state snowplow the snow blower eats it up and blows snow 25 to 30 ft into my yard best snowblower for my money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Big improvement on wet snow! Bought this in December, but finally got to use it in January. We had a very wet and heavy snow which my former blower had difficulty blowing over 2 feet. This cub cadet threw it like a champ. My next door neighbor couldn't blow his snow due to its weight, so I did his driveway as well. On dry snows, it tends to leave more residue snow than I would like, but overall I am very satisfied because of how it performs with the wet, heavy snow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The snow flies I was sold on the HD model because of the thicker sheet metal and overall sturdy feel. I clean a 22 x 27 gravel driveway with it and so far it works perfectly - as long as I stay above the gravel. Any stones picked up at all will bust the shear pins immediately. I know that's by design, but with the first snow of the year lightly covering the unfrozen gravel, it was almost impossible to keep the rocks out. I've broken and replaced all but one pin so far. I understand that that's my fault and the pins protect the machine. Here's my suggestion for anyone buying one of these. IMMEDIATELY replace the black shear pins with aftermarket pins that are not black. When a pin breaks, it usually leaves the remains of the pin in the shaft - which is also black. It's way too difficult to try to rotate the blades to the right position to punch out the remains. The off-color (gold-ish) aftermarket pins are far easier to locate and they are slightly more durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Throws Snow! At Blain's Farm & Fleet, there were many choices for snowblowers. Of the Cub Cadet 3X models, there was a choice between 26" and 30". My driveway is about 4 times as large as a typical driveway; my choice was the 26" because my thought was it would be easier to maneuver. Now that the 26" model has been used; the 30" would have been a little bit better choice. Maneuverability is probably the same. The first snow of the season was 8" with rain before and after. The street plow left about a 2 foot drift. My neighbor's 2 stage wasn't able to get through it but the Cub Cadet 3X threw it without slowing down. PROS: Starts easily, large fuel capacity, lights, handles extremely wet heavy snow CONS: Too loud, a 300 HP car is quieter, PLEASE Cub Cadet, PLEASE make an after market muffler for your motors, yikes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really dissapointed I bought this and it came delivered with the handles all greasy and it does not clean off. It ran 20 feet and the gears blew up. I could not return it so they repaired it. I did not check it out since it did not snow. Now it will not start and has no reverse. I just sold it and have to fix it myself. Read all the reviews and know I got a lemon but no one will stand by it. It still had a new machine warranty which means little, Will never by anything from cub cadet or Wilkinson Supply again

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great snow clearing. I am very happy with my Cub Cadet. It can handle the heavy wet snow we get in the Northeast. Easy to start. Maneuvers well and the engine runs smooth. Two negatives. 1. The shear pin on the rotary blade broke. I don't think I hit anything to cause it to break. I remember reading a review that mentioned that shear pins snap easily. 2. From the factory, first gear forward was too fast and very forceful when engaged. Talked to customer service who provided me with instructions on how to fix this; which I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful. Just a beast ! Chewed through snow like butter. Did driveway and long sidewalk in no time. Snow was wet and heavy but no problem. Plus, hands were warm from hand warmer handles.
