Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bring on the snow! We got this because my husband had spine surgery and he cant shovel. This snowblower works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The boss I bought this in the fall. I have been waiting to try it out. I was out of town when Mother Nature dropped a foot of heavy wet snow. I was a little worried when I got home as the temperature dropped to -17, so all that wet snow was frozen solid. The Cub Cadet didn’t disappoint. It handled the foot of snow with ease. I was very impressed with how far it threw the snow. I am still learning the machine, as I kept forgetting to use the power steering. By the end I was remembering to use it, what a great feature. Makes it so much easier to maneuver. Working the chute was a little cumbersome, as it is different then my old machine, but I am starting to get the hang of it. Overall I am impressed and would recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wished I Bought Another Brand I bought my CC from Home Depot one year ago tomorrow. I used it last winter and racked up about 8 or 10 hours on it. When winter was over, I ran the tank dry rather than keep gasoline in it. Running it dry is recommended in the manual so I did it. A month ago (11/18) it snowed and I bought fresh gas and went to start up my 11-month old snowblower. It wouldn't start after trying for 2 hours. Imagine that, 11 months old and I'm out there shoveling my driveway with a shovel while my Cub Cadet sits in the garage and rests. I called a friend a few days later and he came over, took apart the carb, cleaned it out and reassembled it and got it going. Mind you, my previous Craftsman snowblower was 11 years old and started for me year in and year out by storing it the exact same way. I did call CC customer support and the rep asked me how I stored it, where I stored it, etc. She had the nerve to ask me "Do you have an extended warranty?" Why on earth would I need to be talking about an extended warranty on a machine that's 11 months old and has less than 10 hours on it? She went on to tell me I could have it looked at by a certified CC dealer in my area, which I'd surely have to pay for. Now it's December and I'm worried about the reliability of my brand-new snowblower since it has already bit me on the first snow storm of the season. I have been going out to my garage periodically to start it so it doesn't fail me when I need it. I have brand new gas. Guess what? If the machine sits for more than 10 days or so, it won't start using the rope/pull start. I have to run an extension cord out to my garage and use the electric starter and even then, it won't start right up like a new machine should. For whatever reason, it just doesn't feel like starting. Of course, if I call Cub Cadet back, they'll somehow make it out to be my fault. Like I mentioned, my previous snowblower never gave me any grief when it came to starting or running. I upgraded that machine for the larger CC model and so sorry that I did. I have zero faith in the machine and even less faith in CC making me even want to keep the machine. I shouldn't have to have worry about my new snowblower starting each season or even week to week for that matter. I should have just kept my old one which never let me down. I never owned such a piece of garbage and I'm so sorry I didn't buy something else. Unreliable in it's first year. Yeah, that's my fault! In the future, I will not buy another Cub Cadet again for any reason or price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just picked this up I just purchased this snowblower for the upcoming season. I've read a lot of reviews on many different brands and this one stood out for me. After I assembled it, I noticed the joystick for the chute was a a little difficult to move. I'm hoping that once I use it a time or two it becomes easier to use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TOTALLY UNRELIABLE!!! Bought new on Dec 29, 2017. Used three times. Followed all off-season storage and maintenance procedures listed in the manual. Received 13" of snow last night and when I tried to fire it up this morning it wouldn't start. No spark (and yes I changed the spark plug). Authorized dealer said it sounds like the coil. How does a coil go bad after 3 uses?! I finally broke down and bought, what I thought was a top of the line 2 stage snow blower, and it quits working after one season! Which does not leave a good taste in my mouth for Cub Cadet snow blowers. I will definitely go with another brand next time! In fact, my entire purchase has been nothing but an extremely frustrating and disappointing. Based on my experience I would never recommend a Cub Cadet snow blower!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock on I have had my Cub Cadet for three years now and have had no problems except the pull cord broke. I live in Minnesota and have had some good snowfall the last two years and it starts every time without a problem and clears 100' double driveway without a sweat. Even when the road plow goes by no problem it just spits out where you point it. So impressed I bought another for my dad and another for the cabin.....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 524SWE My older snow blower (15 years old) started having problem this winter so while looking for parts I also was checking out a new snow blower. I found this 524SWE at Tractor Supply and it had some features like power steering (that will take a little time getting use to). The chute direction didn't always turn so I had to help it a little from time to time. Since then I used some WD-40 at the base of chute to see if that helps next time it snows. The angle of the chute worked well before I started using it but once blowing snow I couldn't adjust it. Couple of days later was out checking it and it worked real good then. Gave the cable some WD-40 also. I think the chute direction and the angle have to be just right because of the U-Joint in the controls to work right. Other than that it worked like a charm. I wanted one with electric start because my old one wouldn't turn over fast enough to start when it was around 0 degrees. I keep it in an unheated shed so the oil was extra cold. I have 3 driveways and some sidewalks to clean. I need to get some heated grips for it next. They seem to be on backorder right now.
