Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty nice mower - with a few hiccups Purchased my 2018 XT2 LX46 in May of 2018. After 1 year and about 13 hours on the clock (we had a lot of rain), here are my thoughts: - This thing cuts tall grass like a beast. It does not play around. I traded in an old LT1040, and I had to tie up the grass chute to keep it from clogging up. Not so with this monster !! It keeps the deck clear in the most harsh situations, including crawdad mounds and fire ant piles. Don't even think about trying to tie up the chute on this bad boy, you will sling rocks and debris everywhere. Leave it in place! - After a few hours of mowing, I got a "E-04" code on the display. The dealer came out, took it back to their shop, and brought it back quickly after replacing the oxygen sensor and replacing the plugs, all for free. No more codes since then. - This mower needs more aggressive tires on the back. Yes, I realize that some people have lovely manicured lawns, but I am mowing about 3/4 of an acre of improved pasture, and I need some more traction, especially when the ground is wet. - The most annoying thing about this mower is the lack of handles on the rear fenders !! I REALLY miss being able to secure myself when mowing our ditch (which is NOT very steep) !! I see that other models have them, but I just didn't need the larger deck size. Overall, a great mower that I would buy again, although I really would appreciate the return of the fender handles on this model.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cuts like a beast but steering needs work. The machine has a ton of power for the size deck. Cuts wet and overgrown grass like nothing. So far I only have two hours on it though and the steering shaft feels loose. Not the steering itself, but the column has a ton of play in it, feels cheaply made. I am hoping this is just how they all are and that its not an issue with my machine. I will write a follow up review at the end of the season. On another note, this machines quality is far better than any of the competitors at that price point. The red and green competitors feel cheaply made and when I stepped on them they would flex all over the place. The Cub is much more ridged and better built. The LED headlights also set it apart, you can actually see at night...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great machine This machine does a great job on our yard. Our yard looks great after it has been mowed. This machine mows so evenly and makes everything look so nice when you are done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME! I bought this lawn tractor a few weeks ago and have used it a couple times. So far, I am TOTALLY happy with it. Very easy to operate and very nice smooth ride. Turning radius is great and I am so glad I got the 46 inch cut- makes short work of my half acre yard. Seems to not be as loud as some other lawn tractors I have heard in my neighborhood so that is good. I will give more reviews as the Spring and Summer go be continued.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from BAD BELT DESIGN FOR SNOWBLOWER ATTACHMENT I bought this about a month ago. Also purchased snow blower attachment. With only 4 hours on the machine. The 68 inch auger belt broke. I did not hit any rocks or ice chunks. Very expensive to replace. This one was under warranty. But from past experience I know it will happen again. This is a poor engineering design as far as I am concerned. Have seen many complaints on internet of customers with same problems. Thank You

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Fun Mowing According to My Wife After the first time my wife mowed with our XT2 LX46, she couldn't wait until the grass was high enough to mow again. She loves it! She is only 5'-2" tall, but with the sliding seat adjustment, she can easily reach the pedals. She says it always starts right up and the controls are easy to learn how to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent lawn tractor I bought this about six weeks ago and have mowed my lawn about three times. I had to adjust the mower blade height from side to side a little but I,ve had to do that on my last two other lawn tractors also. So far I'm very happy with mower. Rides very nice, steers extremely easy, cuts excellent, with plenty of power and gas consumption is as good as my old tractor which had 11 h.p. less. I like the fact that it comes with front bumper and even arm rest. My old one didn't. I like the electric PTO versus the manual. Now time will tell if it all holds up. I also like the appearance which I personally thinks looks great. Appears to be very easy to perform maintenance on; Changing blades, changing oil and filter and air filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy So Far So far I am happy with this product, BUT time can change that. I had a Cub Cadet previously and it was a (2004?) 42" LT1018 model and even had the better Twin cylinder Briggs and Stratton engine that some of these models had. So that is my reference. I just bought this 2018 XT2 LX46 model. It's exactly what I wanted. I didn't quite trust the fuel injection models yet (from any maker). Didn't want the bigger 50" or other makers 48" because they have 3 blades which I've read leave a more unlevel grass cut and their baggers are much more expensive. Of course if your yard is large and requires these larger models, then they're a must. TRACTOR: So far I am impressed with power and the mowing deck. I can cut very high wet grass at a good speed without the mower bogging down and the cut is great. The mower has so much power, much more powerful than the LT1018 with the Vtwin even did. I have to be careful because I already have wipped my head back, when sitting forward and easing into the gas pedal. The take off is more sensitive and powerful than the LT1018 was ever. Make sure to set your anti-scalp wheels so that they are 1/2" from the ground when cutting at your desired height. Didn't realize the dealer delivered setting was 1.5" from the ground at the 2.5" cutting height setting. I scalped my yard pretty bad as I have small dips, bumps, holes and hills all over it even though it looks mainly level. My old LT1018 was delivered with the anti-scalp wheels adjusted to my normal cutting height so never had to worry about them as I have good cuts. Comparing the new XT2 LX46 (46") to my older LT1018 (42") is pretty easy. The new XT2 is larger and taller. My hood would fit under my deck bench with the LT1018. The XT2 hood is probably 10" to tall to fit and probably at least 12" taller than the LT1018 hood. The XT2 is built much more robust with heavier duty steering and front end components along with a supposedly better K46 Tuff Torque Transmission, and much more powerful engine with auto choke. The seat is much more comfortable as it's a high back with arms compared to just a low back on the LT1018. Also I don't notice the XT2 frame/body flexing as much when cutting my deck. The LT1018 would flex so bad the hood would pop up. I chose the XT2 LX46 over the XT1 LT46 for Better front wheel bearings, Better tires, Higher HP engine, Engine with Smart Choke, Electric PTO, Higher capacity battery, Front HD Bumper, and arm rests on the seat. The minimal cost of the XT2 LX46 over the XT1 LT46 made it a bargain for all the extras for a more capable tractor. BAGGER: The standard bagger is still expensive and I was disappointed with its performance but I found this performance is standard with all brands and models. Even the brands and models costing 2X the price of my model seem to have the same issue. Since I never had a bagger for the LT1018, I guess I had higher expectations than I should have. The bagger excels in performance with shorter, dry grass. However with longer cuts of moist grass, the bagger attachment at the deck clogs almost immediately. Very easy to tell as the sound of the mower deck changes, and grass starts getting spit out in front of the deck by the chute. Best bet if grass is moist or wet, is to cut it without the bagger first, then make another round over it with the bagger as it will pick it up then without clogging. Unfortunately at my residence, the grass is mostly always moist so using my lawn sweeper may have been a better choice, saving the money spent on the bagger.
