Rated 5 out of 5 by from give it a look just traded in my 1554 that I had for 7 years for the XT2 and I cant be happier. The deck drops off and goes back on easy, not like my old cub. The Kawasaki engine is quiet compaired to my old kohler. Very sharp turning and ball bearing hubs very good upgrade. I was looking at a D170 but that was $1000.00 bucks more and not even close to the new XT2 on quality and warranty. Bottom line Im glad I got it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome first riding mower This is the first riding mower Ive owned. I did a lot of research and felt the redesigned Cub Cadet rising mower was the way to go. I have mowed once and found the riding mower to be very easy to get use to. The cut looks great. The mower started up the on the first try and ran perfectly. The Kawasaki engine is powerful but very quiet and very smooth. I do wish Cub Connect was available on all the XT2's but it wasnt a deal breaker. I am really enjoying my purchase so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mower (but original carburetor was bad) This is my third Cub Cadet. It is actually an LX42 with a Kawasaki engine, so I posted it here rather than with the Kohler-engined LX42KH's. I recently downsized from 7.5 acres to just 1 acre, sold an old GT2550 and bought the XT2. The steering on the XT2 is so much better with a lighter feel, and much better turning radius. The cut is even and great - classic Cub Cadet. However, with just 5 hours the engine began dying intermittently, then starting after a few minutes. Of course the first time to the shop it ran fine. But by 10 hours it would no longer run more than 50 feet, so the shop was able to diagnose the carburetor as the malfunctioning part. Thanks to our local dealer, Jacobi Sales, for working diligently to find and correct the problem. The XT2 now runs like the proverbial top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a nice machine! Does everything great! Bought the XT 2 LX46 in June of 2015. Has a 21.5hp Kawasaki engine. Have 1.5 acres to mow, gradual slopes, otherwise flat. Cuts and rides beautifully. Live in one of the snow capitals of world Munising, Michigan, so I purchased the snow blower attachment. First time out, I got into 8" of heavy wet snow, did a great job and it really threw the snow, shouldn't have to worry about banks this year.I got greedy and went too fast , heard the belt driving the blower squeal. My advice just take it slow and let it chew. It'll take on just about anything. So far this a beast, hope it lasts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well riding mower! This mower can cut and haul with ease. Cutting the grass goes very smooth and even. I can haul a wagon load of firewood without any problem. The LED light are nice and bright in the light up where i'm going. I also bought the bagger system for my cub cadet, it goes on and off the mower in less than five minutes. Overall I'm very pleased with my mower!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Mower I purchased my XT2 yesterday at the local Cub Cadet dealer. I purchased the 46 inch stamped deck with the 21.5 hp Kawasaki engine based on the salesman's suggestion that it was a better engine than the Kohler. I was shopping between the Cub and the John Deere S240 which has an 18.5 hp Kawasaki and a 42 inch deck. J. Deere wants $500 more for their unit with a smaller engine and deck. I brought my XT2 home and mowed my yard for the first mow of the year. The grass was already much thicker than would normally be for a mow, so it was a good test for the mower and engine. My previous Troy Built with an 18hp Briggs would have had a hard time mowing through this, but my new Cub never even flinched. It just powered right though. I love the steering on my Cub too. So smooth and turns so tight. Everything in the design of this new mower is well thought out. It's comfortable to sit on for my hour of mowing, has no vibrations that transfer back to the driver and is much quieter than the normal riding mower. I purchased mine through a local dealer instead of a big box store because I want to have a local service place to keep it in top notch shape for years. I will highly recommend this mower to anyone looking for a well built unit for an affordable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time rider owner and no regrets! This was the first rider I've ever purchased and after much research/waiting I couldn't be happier! We purchased ours in August 2015 so going on 2+ months of used. The mower cuts great and the handling really is as good as the other reviewers say. My wife now helps out with mowing and loves the speed and ease of using it. I almost went with the LT46 instead, but held out for the LX46 and don't regret it. The electric PTO is a nice feature that adds to the ease and I read on a couple forums that said an electric PTO helps extend the belt life. I'm not an expert so I can't vouch if it's true or not, but that's a plus in my opinion. The better tires on this model may help someday, but the property we have now is pretty flat. The Kawasaki engine really is fairly quiet and starts on the first turn. The one thing that took some getting used to was that the mower really discharges the grass further than any other mower I've used before. If you don't plan on bagging your grass clippings or using the mulching kit, it takes time to judge how far out from your landscaping you need to be so you don't blow grass into it. All in all, I'm super happy with the mower and would highly suggest it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice step up-a real lawn tractor 1 acre lawn. Had a 15.5hp Kohler 42" deck C*****man which I would now classify as a riding lawn mower where this XT2 LX46 is a lawn tractor. Steering and turning radius is great along with the machine's speed and direction control pedals. Kawasaki motor is smooth, quiet and has plenty of power. Mowing time greatly reduced and feel as good at the end as when I start. Only complaint is when I use the bagger there is plenty of "blowout" of clippings from the left side of the deck and leaves from the right side when using the Hi-Lift blades and mowing at 3-1/4". Would have given 5 stars if not for this issue. Really like the electric deck engagement over a manual lever.
