Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mower I picked mine up today. Mowed 3 acres. Cuts like a dream. Very fast. Comfortable. I have used allot of mowers in my life and this is the best so far

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great step up mower Stepping up from a 42” lawn tractor. I was a little unsure about a zero turn because my yard has several obstacles and a steep incline along with a pond that has a steep bank all the way around it. This is the perfect choice. One lap around my yard I figured out how easy it is to operate. My old mower took 3 hours to mow my grass. I’m happy to say my firs time mowing with the ZT2 50 only took 1.5 hours and every time gets done a little faster as I’m getting more comfortable with it. The hills and the pond bank are no problem I’m getting just as close if not closer to the pond edge with this zero turn. The obstacles are much easier to mow around with this mower. I have absolutely no regrets about this purchase. I just want to say if you are like me and only mowing your own lawn and not a landscaping company this is the best bang for your buck $$. No need to spend twice as much money because in the end you are only cutting grass. I definitely recommend the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good zero turn I did tons of research before buying the zt2 50. The upgraded trans and tires were convincing enough to spend the extra. First cut I was happy. Not impressed but happy. Checked the blades. Realized there were not sharp at all. Surprising to me. So I took the deck off, sharpened and balanced. Tried again the following week. What a difference. Cut was great. Great suction as well. Ride is comfortable. Transmission is smooth. Everything works as it should making it a pleasure to mow. Very happy with my purchase. P.S. Also purchased the striping kit. Less impressed with that. Seemed like an afterthought on cub cadets part. Not adjustable and the rollers didn’t cover the entire section between the wheels. Beware if you are considering the striping kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ZT2 worth every penny!! I purchased my ZT2 50" from a dealer near my home. Had a old rider that was nearing the end and since I have mowed on commercial machines in the past I knew I wanted to jump to a zero turn model. While this isn't a 10K+ commercial unit, it will be more than enough for my 1.5 acre yard. While looking for a replacement, I really wanted the best bang for the buck, and I think I got it. The 2800 hydros were one of my "got to get" features on a new mower. I couldn't find anything close to this price point in my area with the 2800's. The regular EZT 2200's are good, but you can hear and feel the difference between them and the 2800's. Great Value for awesome transmissions!! The Kawasaki engine is powerful and less noisy than others I have tried. This Kawasaki looks, sounds and runs like a premium beast. Doesn't bog down or appear to be overworked which I hope will lead to a long life. The ride: honestly better than I expected. I had my concerns about the "polymer suspension" under the seat. I have a bumpy yard, like really bumpy. I feel stuff, but not as bad as my old rider which had metal springs and went slower. We will see as far as durability goes, but this rides better than what I had. The seat plays into the ride too. It is great!! Feels premium and I think it will hold up. The only issue with the seat is that the armrests are too low for me to use when mowing. I am 6' 1" and my elbows wont reach them while I mow. Lastly, and they may go unnoticed by some, but the tires are great. I think they absorb some of the bumps in my yard, adding to the smoother ride. But they also make leaving ruts a lot harder to do. I drove some units with smaller tires and you had to work to not leave ruts. On this unit I can focus on my mowing. Overall, couldn't be happier with what I got. I do a lot of research and really try to get the most for my money. I think I got it with this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ZeroTurn for the "prosumer" niche market Where do I start? I got the ZT2 50” and it is truly the best built zero turn that falls in that category between residential and commercial models. HIGHLY advise you go ZT2. The cut is beautiful. No idea what the guy below is talking about. I live in NH and the terrain is uneven, rocky, various grasses but THICK due to weather patterns. This thing cuts like a beast and so completely solid doing it. Cub Cadet did a ton of research with many dealers and consumers to build this as the ultimate ZT for a niche market. They nailed it. Can’t find anything remotely close in this price range. I use this mower to take care of - handful of lawns and it’s perfect for it. I don’t think they could of done anything better to be honest.....they really did create the best.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Big improvement Only thing that drives me nuts about Cub cadet is that they do not have the blade tip speed info anywhere. I've wasted hrs on the phone trying to find out simple specifications that they know, but won't make available to the consumer like other brands do. Other then that pro's about this machine are taller wider tires, 2800 hydros, thicker handles, comfy seat and a good price. Does not cut well, and back to blade tip speed because I would have given 3 stars because Bts matters for a good cut. Also why not give that info to a consumer unlike all other brands. I'm not impressed with the cut and im trying to determine wether it's a low bts or deck. Is the fancy design, big tires, and other improvements done just to hide it's horrible cut.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This mower is amazing! I purchased my Ultima ZT2-50 a couple of weeks ago. After mowing a couple of times, I am very impressed. I shopped several brands (red, orange, and green ones) of zero turn mowers, and the Ultima series won hands down. I wanted a mower that was well built, easy to maintain, had professional features, and was easy to use. Also, I was looking for a "step up" from the big box stores without getting into professional mowers. This one did all of that! The Kawasaki FR series engine is quieter than the one I had in my previous tractor. Cub Cadet supplied a oil drain hose routed to the bottom of the unit for easy oil changes. Nice touch! Having the Hydro-gear ZT-2800 transmissions means that maintenance will be easy and long life is expected. As others have mentioned, the seat is very comfortable and highly adjustable. The multi-tool stored on-board is a handy thing to have. I have used it already to change the control arm height and to fine tune the forward speed limit on the right side while I was out in the field. No tools are required to adjust the control arm front to rear distance when centered. Having the built-in LED head lights is nice, but I have not had a chance to test them yet in actual use. If you were going to mow often in "low light" conditions, I think a bit more light might be needed. Oh yeah, it cuts grass fantastically too! My total mowing time has been cut in half. I may end up being "that guy" that mows the neighbor's yard too just for fun!
