Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Awesome!!! I bought the ZT1 42 about three weeks ago and have used it twice already....looking for another reason to get on it again soon. I have had all sorts of mowers before but this is my first zero turn and while it takes a little getting used to the steering, you quickly get a good handle on it the more you use it. I have a little more than 2 acres with lots of trees and a pond so I'd say my actual mowing is down to about an acre. I am able to handle it fairly quickly, takes slight hills and dips with ease, mows right through clumpy grass and brush without a problem.....all in all, it's a beast so far! One month in and I'm a VERY happy customer!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Impressed! I just bought the zt1 42" two days ago. Ive operated many zero turns and this one i must say impressed me in its all around mow-ability. Its fast, rides smooth in rough terrain and gets the job done. Vertically ive not had one hill give me a problem, horrizontally almost any incline is shakey.. Still yet glad i bought a cub cadet as my first zero turn.. Oh and im using it commercially not residential.. Approx 40 yrds per week!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cuts great! Having the Cub Cadet Ultima Zero Turn riding lawn mower sure has made the chore of cutting grass much better and not so dreaded! Ride in comfort with the nice comfortable seat as you steer the lawn mower. It cuts very even and will make your yard look very nice. Cutting around trees and other obstacles is so much easier with it being a zero turn. Figuring out how to use it, make adjustments, etc is very easy to figure out. I haven't had any issues with it and don't mind cutting the grass. The quality is good and it is very durable. The hand controls are even comfortable and are easy to learn to use. We have a few small slopes in the yard and with this lawn mower we haven't had any issues. It doesn't leave behind clumps of grass. The tires are good and don't leave behind tire marks nor does it tear up the grass. Pretty smooth ride with no aggravating vibrations. There is quick and easy access to the deck and engine for making maintenance easy. I would recommend this lawn mower!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought this for my property Bought a cub cadet ran it for less than 24 hours over three weeks and it broke down with a bad starter. It has been a month now and your dealer has fixed the starter but is waiting for a new carburetor piece to fix some "problem" he found. Carb problem before 25 hours? Ridiculous. You people should be tripping over yourself to fix this and you're ignoring it!!! Ashamed that I bought this for my property. Disgusted!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well built with excellent results! I enjoy using my Cub Cadet ZT1 42 it has made mowing my three acres of yard easy and fun to cut. My yard is not a flat level surface. My yard has several slight inclines and a mixture of ivy, brush and grass throughout it. When I use this ZT1 42 I am impressed with the powerful 725 cc motor and the blades performance. This zero turn mower can power through over grown brush and tall grass effortlessly. The deck blade is simple to adjust from .25 inch all the way to 4.25 inches. I find setting my blade at 3.5 inches is what works best for my yard. The seat is very comfortable to sit on for long periods of time. I love how the seat is easy to adjust and is secured by four heavy duty bolts. The seat is easy to keep clean with a dampened cloth. When I first used this ZT1 42 it was a bit of an adjustment and learning experience for me compared to my previous standard riding mower. It took me about an hour or so to familiarize myself with the lap bar drive controls. The lap bar controls is what I find sets this amazing mower apart from others. The lap bar controls allow me to have complete control of directions at all times. The lap bars make it so easy to cut forward or in reverse for a precise cut around trees, on uneven surfaces, level surfaces and even on slight inclines. Other features I like on this mower is some of it's safety features. The mower will not start when the lap bar levers are in an engaged position. No worries that the mower will start rolling in gear because of this feature. The mower also will not start while the power take off switch is left on an on position. Besides this mower having great safety features as well as creating a comfortable riding experience it also has durable, high quality tires. The all-terrain back tires have thick tread that works well at keeping the mower grounded and pushes the mower smoothly without having any slipping. I have really enjoyed using this ZT1 42 mower the simplicity of use and pinpoint precision cut makes this a fun and exciting way to keep my yard cut. There is even a cup holder to keep a drink near by. Knowing when to maintenance this mower is very easy to keep track of because of the LCD service minder located by the mower controls. The LCD service minder will light up with specific issues and reminders for keeping the mower properly maintenance. I would definitely recommend this ZT1 42 to others because of how amazing it performs and the a powerful motor that allows for a quicker cut time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes grass cutting fun! This mower has changed how I feel about cutting the grass. Steering, backing up and braking are so easy. The seat is very comfortable and easy to adjust. It even has a cup holder. The blade is sharp and does a great job of cutting the grass evenly. It has the power to handle the slopes and slight hills of my yard with ease. The location of the engine makes it easy to change the oil or perform maintenance. I am very pleased with this mower and recommend it to anyone with a large yard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mower Best mower I ever owned. Only complaint is not excellent tight around objects. Would be perfect if deck extended out a little farther on left side past rear tire

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well Built, comfortable machine Got my Cub in May. I've mowed my acre-an-a-half four times. Very comfortable seat. The handle adjustments provide several options to get your arms in the most comfortable position. I do like the pedal to raise the deck and the dial to adjust cutting height. I prefer the manual choke like my Toro had. CC's choke on the throttle lever makes it unclear when you are at full throttle and out of choke. Also, there is a detent at mid-throttle position. Engine RPM sounds the same as at full throttle, but if you engage the blades with the throttle at this detent position the engine stalls and dies. Not clear what this detent throttle position is for. The Kohler engine seems louder than the Toro's Kawasaki, but I use good quality ear protectors in either case. The Kohler engine does seem to go through fuel much quicker than the Kawasaki. All-in-all though, I am very pleased with my Cub Cadet.
