Rated 4 out of 5 by from ZT2 50INCH Bought this 2 months ago..Overall love the machine...only problem is I am on my third set of blades..Wish they made a heavier blade.Have a GT3100 and blades last 6 months..and cutting same lawns....Biggest problem with my Cubs is getting a dealer to service them who knows what they are doing..Wish I could get customer service involved ,called twice recently with concerns and they didn't even ask my name

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Deck vibrates. Needs a fuel gague Fun to drive, but the deck vibrates horribly. Others have shown this online. seems worse at low speeds. cut is pretty good, wish that opening was un-restricted. Needs a fuel gauge, I run out of fuel often after a couple of mows. Seat fabric comes loose off the back as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted! I bought a ZT2 50 at the beggining of the grass cutting season. I did a lot of research and was impressed with the specs and what this machine had to offer. I have cut my lawn about 1.5 acres about 10 times so far. This mower has been great! Speed is good, cut quality is great! Very happy with my 1st ever cub cadet purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I bought it Purchased ZT2-50 in spring and have used for summer. I cut my house (2 acre with hills, trees, fences and stone borders). I also trailer it to a lot that I care for. No problems. Mower handles my hill which I was worried about. Rear tires have good traction. Able to manuver around trees on the hill. Had no problems learning to use a zero turn. If you pivot on one tire you can leave a mark. With a little practice, that is not a problem. Steering is very easy. Just like having power steering, very easy on the shoulders. I cut under about 300 foot of fence line. The 50" deck just clears the rear wheels making this close. If you are triming under a fence consider larger deck (my 50" deck just fits on my 5 foot wide trailer). I like the position of all the controls. Very easy to use. Deck height is easy to change. The open frame and hinged floor panel makes checking and cleaning easy. Mowing time cut by a third, not that I mind mowing with the ZT2-50. The only thing to improve is checking the gas tank level. I would make this purchase again. Even thinking about buying another one to replace an old regular lawn tractor that I use to mow 3 acres on an island.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ZT2 50 Mower is Great. Mulching Kit is awful. I bought this mower about 6 weeks. I can’t say enough good things about the mower. Cub Cadet really nailed it with this product: fabricated deck, commercial transmission, Kawasaki engine, wide turf tires, and comfortable seat. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the mulching kit. The company I purchased the mower from installed the mulching kit. It is a complete waste of money. It does not seal the deck and with the holes it acts as a chimney to suck the grass clippings onto the deck and build up quickly around the belt. I highly recommend the mower, but not the mulching kit. This would have been a 5 star rating if not for the mulching kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome -First time Zero Turn mower owner I got this about 3 wks ago, the ZT2 50 mower I went with it over the ZT1 because the better tires, seat adjustment by handle, upgraded transmissions, and Kawasaki engine. I'm going to do the first oil change tonight as I just tripped 5.5 hrs mowing yesterday. Pros: Great tires (Bigger is always better to me anyway) Seat adjustment (no undoing screws/ bolts, moves like car seat) Adjustable lap bars (not just up and down but can angle forward or back, no other in price point has this option) Controls all in one place and easy to use Deck Height adjustment (pedal, turn dial done) Kawasaki motor Fabricated Deck Cons: No gas gauge 3.5 gal tank (could easily fit a 4.5-5 gal in there) she's thirsty sometimes too Grass does collect on top of deck (more than my old mowers it seems) But over all I love this thing, it was easy to get used to and fires right up every time and runs great. I do have the extreme mulching kit, and stripping kit on mine dealer installed. The stripping kit doesn't seem to do much but its at least got a good rear anti scalping roller now (that is the kit a big roller on back of deck). Mulching kit I'm still on the fence about good thing I like this mower cause have to mow every 3 days to keep from over doing it and leaving tons of grass clumps all over, mulching blades. As for the deck vibration issues, not sure, I can't tell much difference between it and my old Orange tractor mower, maybe the strip kit roller weighs it down more? Or maybe my old mower was also badly vibrating so I'm used to it?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Zero Turn I bought this mower a little over a month ago and am extremely pleased with it. I spent time with my dealer ensuring that I could safely operate it with one hand and a prosthetic limb. I found it very easy to operate and wish that I had done this years before, I now cut my 2 1/2 acres yard in about an hour and a half In addition to the prosthetic limb I have ligament damage to the right wrist and was no longer able to use a mower with a steering wheel. The push and pull controls on this mower are easy to use and allow for precise control of the mower

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cub Cadet Quality I’ve had my latest Cub Cadet for about 5 months after replacing my 15 year old ZT 50. So far, it has been great. The Kawasaki engine is strong, and the ZT2 transmissions are quiet and very smooth which is why I chose it over the ZT1. The oil was easy to change, and the layout of the frame and maneuverability of the seat make it easy to clean the entire mower. If I had a complaint, it would be the lack of a floating deck and pivoting front axle, which always kept a smooth finish on the uneven portions of my lawn with my old ZT50. Of course, this feature is obsolete among all zero turn manufacturers these days. Overall, I’m very satisfied and enjoy my mower time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeds expectations! Bought the ZT2 50” two weeks ago. I’ve mowed three times. I have about 1.5 acres but live in an area with a pretty high water table so I mow every 4 days. The mower is smooth and powerful. It discharges grass nicely. Does everything it was advertised to do. Very pleased so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lawnmower This is without a doubt the BEST Lawnmower I have ever owned. Great power, comfort, speed and maneuverability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine I bought the ZT2 50 from a local dealer, Walt’s Outdoor after tons of research. Narrowed the decision down to an orange model or the Cub. Went with the Cub as it has more features I liked such as a very comfortable seat, bigger front & rear tires, and the lap bars are the best out there for this price range mower. I usually don’t like to purchase a brand new design of something but the overall from the ground up new design of this zero turn won me over. The cut quality and power is great too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value Bought in March 2019 . It has been rock solid. I usually run it at least 4 hours per week. No issues. I only wish it had a suspension seat option. Otherwise I really love this mower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT MOWER I really love this mower. It has cut down my mowing time from my lawn tractor. I did my research and this machine is very well built, comfortable, great cut, well engineered, easy to maintain, powerful and looks great at a good price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Feachers II bought this O Turn mower in 2009. Have had very few problems, I would purchase another O Turn cub cadet in future if I needed another mower.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too heavy for the HP I've had my ZT2-50 for 4 months. I had a Cub Cadet ZRT-50 that I bought new about 10 years ago, gave that to my son. The new mower is a little slower I guess because it is so heavy, almost commercial-like, beefy. My other issue is that the 2 control arms don't apply power equally as my old mower did. Adjusting the stop screws to match the forward power just makes the faster arm slower. I want more speed, not less. Got a fix for that? However, the new design features are really nice. Raising and lowering the blade is easy. The PTO stays engaged when in reverse and even when the arms out in the brake position. The LED lights are a good feature as well. My old mower had a black gas tank which made it hard to tell how much gas was in the tank. The new one is translucent. Zero turn mowers really are a time saver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent machine Can't believe I waited this long to purchase a zero turn. This machine is fantastic and cuts great. It's nimble, easy to maintain and did I mention how great it cuts?! :) You won;t go wrong purchasing this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent cut and ride So far, I’ve put over 7 hours on my ZT2 50 and I absolutely love it! It cuts great and rides great. I’ve already done my 5 hour oil change. My lawn is steep in places and has lots of uneven spots. Sometimes I get an occasional straggler, but I just go right back over it and it’s done. The only real thing I would improve on it is the seat springs. It does ride excellent, but I’m sure if it had actual springs, it would ride even better. Cub cadet, give us some seat springs and maybe even a proprietary shade attachment. Overall, I’m very happy with my ZT2 and I expect it to last for many seasons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Zero Turn Purchased about a month ago. This is a great mower! I replaced a 1994 Cub Cadet 1641 garden tractor with this ZT2-50. I’m really glad I went back with another Cub Cadet product. I enjoyed a lot of years cutting with the 1641, but this zero turn is really great! It has the same sturdy, quality feel as the old Cub. Very comfortable to use and the Kawasaki engine has plenty of power to cut thru the tough stuff. Very happy with my purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Mower Originally bought a Toro zero turn mower but got it home and it wouldn’t work so I brought it back and got the ultima and I am glad I did. Starts every time and mows even and quickly. Very happy with this mower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I purchased my ZT2 50" just a short while ago (Feb, 2019) and although I have only used the unit to mow my 1 acre property three times now I am really happy with the overall performance; this mower has made mowing my lawn a joy again! Controls are easy to use, and power of the Kawasaki engine is great! Also the Aeroforce deck gives such a wonderful finish to my grass (mixed St. Augustine and weeds!). I am happy with my purchase and do recommend this unit to other prospective buyers looking for a similar size and type zero-turn unit at a great price. Kevin

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good zero turn I did tons of research before buying the zt2 50. The upgraded trans and tires were convincing enough to spend the extra. First cut I was happy. Not impressed but happy. Checked the blades. Realized there were not sharp at all. Surprising to me. So I took the deck off, sharpened and balanced. Tried again the following week. What a difference. Cut was great. Great suction as well. Ride is comfortable. Transmission is smooth. Everything works as it should making it a pleasure to mow. Very happy with my purchase. P.S. Also purchased the striping kit. Less impressed with that. Seemed like an afterthought on cub cadets part. Not adjustable and the rollers didn’t cover the entire section between the wheels. Beware if you are considering the striping kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST RESIDENTIAL MOWER IN THE WORLD!!!! I have been mowing since I was a kid. Like most people, I’ve experienced several mowers. Some people are brand loyal and I get that. My family has been servicing mowers since the 60’s. We have seen all the residential mowers come and go. What we have seen through the years is that Cub Cadet mowers are the best bang for your buck. Like all machines, they need proper care. But Cub Cadet mowers will give you the best cuts, longer mowing life, and owner satisfaction than any other brand. So when it came time to go shopping for a new mower, Cub Cadet was where I looked first! I’m extremely proud of this brand! There are many great brands out there. I’m not knocking any others out there. I’m just giving y’all my opinion on the best residential mowers in the world, and that’s Cub Cadet. The Ultima ZT2 is the best residential mower in the world!!! I purchased the 50 inch deck for versatility. The bigger tires give you unbelievable traction!! I mean, this is a light 600 lbs mower and with huge tires that means you won’t be making ruts as easily. I mowed my yard for an hour after it had rained all day and I never lost traction in the wet grass!! I was mind blown!! This frame is Super Man strong!! The Kawasaki motor is so powerful for tough jobs but honestly a child could use this mower! It’s like driving a new luxury car!!!! Just Butter!! It glides, it does not jerk at all!! Not over bearing or intimidating at all. The motor is not too loud either. I am amazed!!! With 3.5 gallons of gas I can go a long time mowing!! The rubber floor mat takes so much vibration out for more comfort for your feet. Same with the handles. The grips give you ultimate control for your ultimate mowing on this ultima mower!! No more mowing fatigue!! You just don’t want to get off this mower!!! It makes it even harder to get off when you can see in the evenings and at night with the LED lights!!! They are amazing!! I do admit I wish they were a bit brighter but they are plenty bright enough to mow at night!! From a maintenance frame of mind there has never been a better mower created!!!! I’m serious!! You have easy access to everything and I mean everything!!! The floor plate comes off after undoing one bolt. It’s fully removable fast and gives you a huge amount of room to clean or maintain your deck and belts. It comes with a tool to undo the floor bolt that has a secure place easy to get and put back. The seat is extremely comfortable!! It is adjustable forward and backwards by a lever under the seat. It folds forward and gives you full access to the battery, wires, gas tank, and the front of motor. Just unbelievable!!! I have never seen a mower with everything so easily accessible!!! I have not been paid to say anything!!! I’m just a proud Cub Cadet Ultima ZT2 owner!! I can’t say enough good about this Ultima mower!! IT IS THE BEST RESIDENTIAL MOWER IN THE WORLD!!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great zero turn but... I purchase this zero turn and early May had to drive 115 miles to get it seeing how they sold out of them so fast after getting it home haircut braids but then both the front tires run-flat the back left tire was flat one of the hydrostatic or Transmissions some people call them while disengaged will still drive the powder coating on the frame have multiple spots missing down to Bare Steel also the lap Bars were off three-quarters of a bar thickness which cannot be straightened out by adjusting what the plastic knob that just adds up 3/4 the opposite I did call the dealer at first he told me he would send me tubes to put in the front tires watch I told him no seeing how it was a brand new lawn mower with tubeless tires after the owner spoke with the Cub Cadet rep he informed me that they would be giving me a brand new one that was the good news the bad news was it would be 2 months because they were still building them since they ran out of stock which I was very happy about I thought I would definitely get the runaround but come to that obviously takes care of their customers that's the reason I am giving at 4 stars but once I air up the tires twice a week come on my acre and a half it looks like a golf course but I am done and I am a heavy equipment operator for a living so I am used to Skid Steer controls and I can mow my full yard at full speed 7 1/2 miles an hour since I regretted my front and back out out 2 years ago so it is smooth as a baby's behind no bumps and like I said before it's still looks like a golf course at 7 and 1/2 miles per hour this thing is a beast I also tried it out as a brush hog I have a farm field next to me there had three foot tall weeds outside my privacy fence and it plowed right through it without volume down whatsoever

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So for mower is good bagger is junk I like the mower , but why did cub cadet make such a cheap piece of plastic for there bagging system. Mower and bagger are less that 2 months old and I have a bungee strap holding the bagger tight so grass don’t blow all over me or the bags just fall out . Never those I would see cub cadet put there name on a product this bad .

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Big improvement Only thing that drives me nuts about Cub cadet is that they do not have the blade tip speed info anywhere. I've wasted hrs on the phone trying to find out simple specifications that they know, but won't make available to the consumer like other brands do. Other then that pro's about this machine are taller wider tires, 2800 hydros, thicker handles, comfy seat and a good price. Does not cut well, and back to blade tip speed because I would have given 3 stars because Bts matters for a good cut. Also why not give that info to a consumer unlike all other brands. I'm not impressed with the cut and im trying to determine wether it's a low bts or deck. Is the fancy design, big tires, and other improvements done just to hide it's horrible cut.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome mower Bought in June, 2019 and have 54 hours on it now. Nice mower and comfortable ride, very well built. I average about 2 hours to mow 1.75 acres. Could use a 5 gallon gas tank instead of the 3.5 gallon tank.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and smooth ride Only 16 hrs over past 2 months, replaced 8 yr old Cub cadet 46" Tractor. Cut my mowing time by 1/3. Much smother ride than the tractor - I tried New Cub garden tractor prior to purchase. Very good on hills as long as grass is dry - much better mulching leaves (have the mulch kit) than my 46" tractor with mulch kit was. Air cleaner stays nearly spotless due to proximity of the deck compared to same engine on my old tractor. Only minor complaint, blades were full/new on delivery, easy to sharpen though. Bought thru same local dealer as last time for service and parts availability. Could not be happier.
