Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome -First time Zero Turn mower owner I got this about 3 wks ago, the ZT2 50 mower I went with it over the ZT1 because the better tires, seat adjustment by handle, upgraded transmissions, and Kawasaki engine. I'm going to do the first oil change tonight as I just tripped 5.5 hrs mowing yesterday. Pros: Great tires (Bigger is always better to me anyway) Seat adjustment (no undoing screws/ bolts, moves like car seat) Adjustable lap bars (not just up and down but can angle forward or back, no other in price point has this option) Controls all in one place and easy to use Deck Height adjustment (pedal, turn dial done) Kawasaki motor Fabricated Deck Cons: No gas gauge 3.5 gal tank (could easily fit a 4.5-5 gal in there) she's thirsty sometimes too Grass does collect on top of deck (more than my old mowers it seems) But over all I love this thing, it was easy to get used to and fires right up every time and runs great. I do have the extreme mulching kit, and stripping kit on mine dealer installed. The stripping kit doesn't seem to do much but its at least got a good rear anti scalping roller now (that is the kit a big roller on back of deck). Mulching kit I'm still on the fence about good thing I like this mower cause have to mow every 3 days to keep from over doing it and leaving tons of grass clumps all over, mulching blades. As for the deck vibration issues, not sure, I can't tell much difference between it and my old Orange tractor mower, maybe the strip kit roller weighs it down more? Or maybe my old mower was also badly vibrating so I'm used to it?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted! I bought a ZT2 50 at the beggining of the grass cutting season. I did a lot of research and was impressed with the specs and what this machine had to offer. I have cut my lawn about 1.5 acres about 10 times so far. This mower has been great! Speed is good, cut quality is great! Very happy with my 1st ever cub cadet purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeds expectations! Bought the ZT2 50” two weeks ago. I’ve mowed three times. I have about 1.5 acres but live in an area with a pretty high water table so I mow every 4 days. The mower is smooth and powerful. It discharges grass nicely. Does everything it was advertised to do. Very pleased so far!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy with purchase! Mower is all I expected. My only 2 peeved are: 1. Needs a fuel gauge or option for a cap with one. 2. Lots of grass build up on top of deck due to oversized spindle holes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best rider I’ve ever owned I bought this rider about a little over a month now the best rider I have ever owned and I’ve had many riders including John Deere zero turn. Very comfortable easy to operate and very smooth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing! I am highly impressed with this mower. It has a very fine cut and is easy to clean. The only things I wish it had is a gas gauge. I have ran out of gas many times on a hill and almost flipped because of there not being a gauge. Also, wish that it included a stripe kit to make yard have beautiful stripes. I think it’s like $100 extra. Overall I love the mower just wish it had those two features built in

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You will not be displeased I looked at different makers of zero turn mowers. What I found is they ALL get the "parts" from the same suppliers. The differences in the mowers will be frames, seats, decks, tires, accessories, and how those parts are used on the mower. I found the ZT2 to have the better parts used, Very strong frame, very comfortable seat, and Power to go through Anything. I cut 3 to 5 ac. which is made up of field and "lawn". The mower does NOT bog down and does NOT leave rows of uncut weed/grass. The transmissions can be serviced rather that Replaced. Engine is one of The Best on the market. The only fault I have found is the grass collects under the belt guards no matter what...my solution? REMOVED the covers and ... No More Problem... BUT keep your hands and feed away from the running belts. Use your brain and Think of what you are doing. My thoughts,... GET IT !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome - as expected! I’ve had this mower for a little over a month and I love it! My lawn (and ZT2) is the envy of the neighborhood. My next door neighbor is now in the market for a ZT2 as well, just to keep up with my lawn. I mowed long, wet grass with zero clumps and cut my mowing time down by 50%.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome mower for the $$$ I recently purchased this mower with a bagger to replace a 2004 cub RZT22 with 731 hours. There is no comparison between these two mowers. The ZT2 frame is super ridged, the deck is well built and cuts excellent. They transmissions are unbelievably smooth for a residential class mower, the Kawasaki engine is super quiet as well. I have had to vibrations at all from the mower with or without the bagger attached. I was even able to get a clean cut on a lawn while running at full forward speed. The larger tires definitely help smooth out my extremely rough lawn. I am more than happy with my purchase of this mower, it feels like a mower that should cost closer to $5,000 or more. I did look at a green brand and an orange brand, definitely feel like this cub was by far the better purchase dollar for dollar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Mower I bought today, got to mow alittle, rain stopped me. Have mowed with other zero turns, this ZT2-50 is great, cuts great. The 2800 hydro gear trans are smooth ,quiet, and quick. For the price ,you get a heck of a deal, research alot of zero turns, by far the best. I know haven't had it long , but impressed, Kawasaki motor is excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Mower I’ve Owned Did lots of research on Zero’s and found the ZT2 the best for the $$ , WOW, my research was spot on, this Mower Rocks..... Only thing negative I have is the lap bars are not even which is a little awkward to operate and the dealership didn’t want to seem to fix them, and a Gas Guage would be a welcomed addition to a great Mower. Would purchase all over again , Great American Made Machine !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Machine! After riding a LT2180 for years, the ZT2 was a super update to my old machine, other than a couple of minor problems from the manufacturer which were quickly resolved by my dealer, this is a awesome machine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I purchased my ZT2 50" just a short while ago (Feb, 2019) and although I have only used the unit to mow my 1 acre property three times now I am really happy with the overall performance; this mower has made mowing my lawn a joy again! Controls are easy to use, and power of the Kawasaki engine is great! Also the Aeroforce deck gives such a wonderful finish to my grass (mixed St. Augustine and weeds!). I am happy with my purchase and do recommend this unit to other prospective buyers looking for a similar size and type zero-turn unit at a great price. Kevin

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good zero turn I did tons of research before buying the zt2 50. The upgraded trans and tires were convincing enough to spend the extra. First cut I was happy. Not impressed but happy. Checked the blades. Realized there were not sharp at all. Surprising to me. So I took the deck off, sharpened and balanced. Tried again the following week. What a difference. Cut was great. Great suction as well. Ride is comfortable. Transmission is smooth. Everything works as it should making it a pleasure to mow. Very happy with my purchase. P.S. Also purchased the striping kit. Less impressed with that. Seemed like an afterthought on cub cadets part. Not adjustable and the rollers didn’t cover the entire section between the wheels. Beware if you are considering the striping kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST RESIDENTIAL MOWER IN THE WORLD!!!! I have been mowing since I was a kid. Like most people, I’ve experienced several mowers. Some people are brand loyal and I get that. My family has been servicing mowers since the 60’s. We have seen all the residential mowers come and go. What we have seen through the years is that Cub Cadet mowers are the best bang for your buck. Like all machines, they need proper care. But Cub Cadet mowers will give you the best cuts, longer mowing life, and owner satisfaction than any other brand. So when it came time to go shopping for a new mower, Cub Cadet was where I looked first! I’m extremely proud of this brand! There are many great brands out there. I’m not knocking any others out there. I’m just giving y’all my opinion on the best residential mowers in the world, and that’s Cub Cadet. The Ultima ZT2 is the best residential mower in the world!!! I purchased the 50 inch deck for versatility. The bigger tires give you unbelievable traction!! I mean, this is a light 600 lbs mower and with huge tires that means you won’t be making ruts as easily. I mowed my yard for an hour after it had rained all day and I never lost traction in the wet grass!! I was mind blown!! This frame is Super Man strong!! The Kawasaki motor is so powerful for tough jobs but honestly a child could use this mower! It’s like driving a new luxury car!!!! Just Butter!! It glides, it does not jerk at all!! Not over bearing or intimidating at all. The motor is not too loud either. I am amazed!!! With 3.5 gallons of gas I can go a long time mowing!! The rubber floor mat takes so much vibration out for more comfort for your feet. Same with the handles. The grips give you ultimate control for your ultimate mowing on this ultima mower!! No more mowing fatigue!! You just don’t want to get off this mower!!! It makes it even harder to get off when you can see in the evenings and at night with the LED lights!!! They are amazing!! I do admit I wish they were a bit brighter but they are plenty bright enough to mow at night!! From a maintenance frame of mind there has never been a better mower created!!!! I’m serious!! You have easy access to everything and I mean everything!!! The floor plate comes off after undoing one bolt. It’s fully removable fast and gives you a huge amount of room to clean or maintain your deck and belts. It comes with a tool to undo the floor bolt that has a secure place easy to get and put back. The seat is extremely comfortable!! It is adjustable forward and backwards by a lever under the seat. It folds forward and gives you full access to the battery, wires, gas tank, and the front of motor. Just unbelievable!!! I have never seen a mower with everything so easily accessible!!! I have not been paid to say anything!!! I’m just a proud Cub Cadet Ultima ZT2 owner!! I can’t say enough good about this Ultima mower!! IT IS THE BEST RESIDENTIAL MOWER IN THE WORLD!!!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Deck vibrates. Needs a fuel gague Fun to drive, but the deck vibrates horribly. Others have shown this online. seems worse at low speeds. cut is pretty good, wish that opening was un-restricted. Needs a fuel gauge, I run out of fuel often after a couple of mows. Seat fabric comes loose off the back as well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice but room for improvement I waited 3 months to get this model over the common ZT1 sold most places. Now that I have it I don't feel the wait or extra money was worth it. You basically get arm rests, tire and transmission upgrades. The arm rests are useless for me. When operating the mower I find I never use them. Between the bouncing (one my new poorly installed sod) I find no need or desire to rest my arms there. The taller front tires and 4 ply rears are something that is nice but not sure there is a difference in performance. The better transmissions might be a plus but again, not sure if I will ever see the gain. It appears that many ZT1 units are out there without comments that these upgrades made the machine any better. On my mower the controls are WAY off. Much of this might be the dealers fault if they are responsible for a test ride and adjusting. My dealer was a nice guy but failed to do his job in a few areas. Basically, here is your mower, here is your receipt, thanks. No demo, no help loading it and almost lost the machine to another after he failed to call me to let me know it was delivered. If I didn't call them it would of been sold to someone else. I did some adjusting myself with the provided arm stop wrench but I have one screw all the way in and the other all the way out and still pull to the left. It is obvious that the rods to the trans needs to be adjusted and it should have never left the factory like that. Also mine was delivered with the serial number decal damaged, numbers missing. I called them and they mailed me a new decal. I was surprised how I was able to get a factory decal mailed to me without much hassle or proof that the original was damaged? My mower seems to leave a high spot on the cuts. I checked deck level and all is adjusted correctly. Just leaves a 4" path of high grass that requires me to overlap my path to get a full cut. If you are looking for nice lines in your lawn this is not going to happen. I read others have the same experience. It also gathers grass on the deck in areas and decides to dump piles on the cut path randomly. I borrowed my neighbors mower, different brand, while waiting for this (3 months). It gave a much better cut and was very old and used. I wish they had an easy way to view fuel level. The good, The Kawasaki motors runs like a clock. No vibrations so far like others experienced. The controls are precise. I am able to fly through the yard and get it done in Was delivered with a few deep scratches on the frame but no rust so far, even though lots of areas missing paint from factory. Stored indoors and always blown off before put away and tat helps. minimal time now that I established my routine. Seat is comfortable. I wish they would design a mechanical way to lock the blades to help in removing the nut. Depending on getting this high enough to use an impact is lame and there is no way to be assured how tight it is installed later when you depend on the impact tool only to tighten. In the end I looked at many brands and models, This seemed like the best deal and I would do it again but probably save $700 and buy the ZT1 and be able to take it home the same day. Factory communication and dealer support trying to order this and find out when it would be available was ridiculous and almost cost them my sale. Unacceptable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great zero turn but... I purchase this zero turn and early May had to drive 115 miles to get it seeing how they sold out of them so fast after getting it home haircut braids but then both the front tires run-flat the back left tire was flat one of the hydrostatic or Transmissions some people call them while disengaged will still drive the powder coating on the frame have multiple spots missing down to Bare Steel also the lap Bars were off three-quarters of a bar thickness which cannot be straightened out by adjusting what the plastic knob that just adds up 3/4 the opposite I did call the dealer at first he told me he would send me tubes to put in the front tires watch I told him no seeing how it was a brand new lawn mower with tubeless tires after the owner spoke with the Cub Cadet rep he informed me that they would be giving me a brand new one that was the good news the bad news was it would be 2 months because they were still building them since they ran out of stock which I was very happy about I thought I would definitely get the runaround but come to that obviously takes care of their customers that's the reason I am giving at 4 stars but once I air up the tires twice a week come on my acre and a half it looks like a golf course but I am done and I am a heavy equipment operator for a living so I am used to Skid Steer controls and I can mow my full yard at full speed 7 1/2 miles an hour since I regretted my front and back out out 2 years ago so it is smooth as a baby's behind no bumps and like I said before it's still looks like a golf course at 7 and 1/2 miles per hour this thing is a beast I also tried it out as a brush hog I have a farm field next to me there had three foot tall weeds outside my privacy fence and it plowed right through it without volume down whatsoever

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Big improvement Only thing that drives me nuts about Cub cadet is that they do not have the blade tip speed info anywhere. I've wasted hrs on the phone trying to find out simple specifications that they know, but won't make available to the consumer like other brands do. Other then that pro's about this machine are taller wider tires, 2800 hydros, thicker handles, comfy seat and a good price. Does not cut well, and back to blade tip speed because I would have given 3 stars because Bts matters for a good cut. Also why not give that info to a consumer unlike all other brands. I'm not impressed with the cut and im trying to determine wether it's a low bts or deck. Is the fancy design, big tires, and other improvements done just to hide it's horrible cut.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So for mower is good bagger is junk I like the mower , but why did cub cadet make such a cheap piece of plastic for there bagging system. Mower and bagger are less that 2 months old and I have a bungee strap holding the bagger tight so grass don’t blow all over me or the bags just fall out . Never those I would see cub cadet put there name on a product this bad .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ZT2/50" I bought this mower about a month and a half ago and have cut with it about 7 times (7.1 hours on the meter). I have about an acre with a pool and a lot of trees, plus a pretty good knoll along the front of my yard. I was leery with all the negative reviews but for the price and what it you get compared to other mowers in the same price range I thought I’d take a chance, (Plus you get a three year warranty with unlimited hours and a Kawasaki engine)! So far there have been no major deck vibrations, it cuts very well, and it seems easy to maintain!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Zero Turn for the money I do a lot of research before I make a big purchase. Based on my research i bought the ZT2 50 and i haven't been disappointed. The quantity of the mower is outstanding and the cut quality is the best that I've seen and now I love to cut my grass!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent cut, agility and maneuverability! I bought the ZT2 50" after serious research. Durability of Cub Cadet coupled with their customer services and availability of local service centers provided the best scenario to the competition. This is my 3rd Cub Cadet and I can honestly say the brand gets better with time.
