Awesome features, does it's job
This is the best mower I've ever ridden, it has great features, cuts smooth and it's hard to bog it down. I especially love that you can spray the blades off with water to keep them clean and sharp. Would definitely recommend!

Great looking and great to mow with
I've had this mower for over a month and have 10hrs on it. It's not a commercial grade however it makes short work of my 2 acre yard. For the price and what it is you can't beat it. Absolutely love it. I have used many commercial zero turns and I can't see spending double. If you have a business then spend the extra but if you are just using it in your yard get you a new zt1....they are pretty awesome :)

Great Mower
I have been looking at and wanting a larger mower for about a year after buying some additional property. I have a 42 inch which works fine and that I will continue to use for areas that the 54 inch deck can't go. Here are things I really like about this mower: deck adjustment, seat comfort, location of controls, the power to cut through thicker grass and not leave clumps, etc. The best part - the specs on the ZT1 are nearly identical if not exactly like another zero turn that I've been considering for $1000 less! So glad I found this and look forward to many good years of use.

Awesome mower

Amazing Mower with great features
I have always enjoyed mowing grass, but the Cub Cadet ZT1 is a huge game changer for me! First zero turn mower I’ve ever ridden or worked. This is the best mower I've ever ridden, it has great features, cuts smooth and it's hard to bog it down. I especially love that you can spray the blades off with water to keep them clean and sharp but attaching the hose and letting it go to keep my mower clean! I love the ease and precision of being able to mow our five acre uneven terrain yard in so little time! Looking forward to mowing every time. Cub Cadet makes a great zero turn mower! Being a female the ease and build makes it fun and easy to control! I sure don’t miss my riding mower!

Fast Fun Machine
Purchased from an independent Cub Cadet dealer (Madson's Service in St. Nazianz, WI) who was a pleasure to deal with and very knowledgeable. Machine has already exceeded my expectations after the 2nd full mowing. Fast, maneuverable, doesn't tear up the turf even with agressive turns, nimble around trees and other landscaping features. Low profile makes it feel very stable. Styling turns many heads of those driving by. Reliable Kohler engine delivers excellent, smooth power. Can't go wrong. Using to cut just over 3 acres of relatively flat hobby-farm property with 30+ trees, two barns, flower beds, etc. Has cut my mowing time in half from my JD 318 tractor I used previously.

Overall a good mower, and it is easy to use. I did not care for the way the mowing deck doesn't self-level. Good size gas tank. I like the removable access panel to allow the mowing deck to be worked on if needed. I like the adjustable mowing height controlled by a hand dial.

Awesome upgrade from a regular lawn mower!
Before this mower I had a John deer. This is my first zero turn and there was a bit of a learning curve but I can tell you it's one awesome machine! It cuts your time on mowing in half! We have trees that line our driveway that we had to push mow but not anymore this thing zips right around them. It's much more fun to drive too cub cadet you rock! This thing has a lot of pros but I can't think of any cons, I love it and I know you will too!

I got a Cub Cadet Ultima ZT1 54' zero turn lawn mower and just let me say this "I LOVE IT!!!!" I will never go back to the tractor type lawn mowers. I am a 50 year old woman who has always loved mowing the yard and being outside and I really didn't think I would be able to use a zero turn lawn mower or that I would even like it but boy was I wrong. It takes some getting used to but its so easy to maneuver that it makes my old lawn mower seem like some kind of ancient relic that shouldn't even be around any longer. Also a big PRO point for this lawn mower is my husband is disabled (back problems, leg problems, just in general can't really get around good) but he was able to mow the yard for the 1st time in over 10 years on this mower. It didn't hurt him getting on or off and riding was smooth and didn't upset his back and legs. He was like a kid on a new bike. I now have unwanted help with my yard mowing but that's OK, I can share. Another PRO point- I get my yard done in a little over half the time (1.2 acres) but this deck is much bigger than my previous. Another PRO point- I have mowed twice (and played a couple times) and still have well over a half tank of gas so it doesn't seem to be using nearly as much gas as the old clunker did. So what I have learned is these lawn mowers are not just for professional landscapers or people who mow yards as a side job - they are for all of us! I will never go back to the regular tractor lawn mower because I am having way too much fun with this one. So anyone out there who is questioning whether or not to get one - go ahead - you going to love this thing! More PROS: easy to crank, easy to control your deck height, push button to turn on the blades, comfortable seat, zero turn really means zero turn, I could go on and on and on.

Awesome machine!
To start off, my property has a bit over 2 acres to cut and it hadn't been maintained for a few years and was overgrown. Rough terrain, tall grass and small trees growing In the fields. Just cut the yard for the 5th time since getting this thing, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to get it. Ample power. No bogging down. Very Comfortable. Fun to drive. Great cut and suction power from the deck. For example, the first time I cut, and in a single pass, this thing sucked up and pulverized to powder the entire leaf bed that had accumulated from the previous couple of years and had laid there untouched. I mean bare clean dirt. In one pass! Now that it's cleaned up, I can cut the whole place in about an hour and it looks great! Performed a break in oil change and cleaned the air filter today. Thought about sharpening the blades because I've really given this thing a beating, but it's still cutting beautifully. You've got a Cub Cadet fan here for sure now. Very impressed with the performance of this thing. Time will tell on the durability side of things, but I'm pretty confident I'll still be enjoying this mower for years to come. Thanks!

Love this mower
The Cub Cadet ZT1 54 is a great lawnmower; so easy to use both my husband, and myself, can use it. The control levers adjust easily for any size driver; the control panel is slightly elevated and slanted toward driver for easy access; and the mower deck raises easily with the foot pedal and lowers back to same cutting position. To lock the blade in any position, raise with foot pedal, put the dial in desired position, and you're through. This mower easily mows our bumpy, hilly, tree covered three acre yard in a very short time. Cub Cadet has scored a home run with this machine.

Love it
It took me about 10 to 15 minutes to get used to using it but after that I was ready to go. This cuts really good. And you can control the speed you want to go. If you have a lot of grass like I do the I would definitely recommend getting this. I am honestly impressed of the quality of the mower. I used to cut my grass with a push mower and it took me about 2 days to get it all done but now it takes me about 30 minutes to an hour to get it done

Cant get much better than this!!
I have had this a month so far. The overall design is a compliment to actually doing a little research into what people/ businesses actually wanted. Everything is easily accessable. This machine won out for me against a list of mowers to long to even put on here. You really need to read and watch all the reviews and videos out side of here, I mean of actualy people that bought this machine. You can see what they say. Cub Cadet has found a new owner here and if they stay with this building quality, I just don't see myself going anywhere else.

NEW TO THESE "ZERO TURN" MOWERS, 7/4/2019, ZT1-54"
Just bought the ZT1, with the 54" fabricated deck. Always used riding lawn tractors for 30 years before. I am now at the 5 Hr oil change point. I wish these came with deck wheels at all four corners, like I had before, as I keep scalping my turf. On my small hill, the mower wheels slip, & I slide down the hill, without any control. Very small hill, so no problem, but beware. But I wish the tires had more traction. My biggest problem/complaint, is the large amount of cut grass that somehow collects on top of the mowing deck. After two hours of mowing, I was shocked to find so much grass on the deck, and compacted inside the spindle covers, and onto the pulleys and the tension spring. To the point of possibly interfering with thier operating/functioning . Now I have to keep my leaf blower on standby. I will pursue/revue possible blade options. My 2nd issue is the mower was delivered with too much air in the rear tires. 35psi, s/b 10 psi, per the tire sidewall ( could not find recommended pressure in the manual). So now I am questioning the deck cutting angle, front to back, as I don't know for sure if the dealer prep. work adjusted that, with the tires set too large. I do find that the mower saves me time. And I find operating the mower to be less physically taxing. I find the seat very comfortable. Also, When I put it up on ramps to access the blades, I miss the foot brake I had before, to keep it from rolling backwards, as I return the arms to neutral, and apart, to set the brakes. My

Everything about it.
I bought this lawnmower on 2/6/19 and got it home and it is a real sweet mower and really smooth. I cut about 2 acres and it did a great job. I only have one leg lost my left leg up to the hip but it's ez for me to get on and off.

So far, not so good
Sitting at 8.3 hours. Third time to use it and it slung the blade belt when i started mowing. Hour in and now it’s slung the drive belt. Manual was a little help getting the blade belt back on but doesn’t show anything on how to put drive belt back. While I am pretty handy and figured out how to run the belt, I have no idea where to hook the tension spring back up. Came to this site hoping for more info but no luck. Guess I will search YouTube and forums. If this is going to be the way it acts, I will be very disappointed with this $3200 purchase.

Quality mower but poor deck design
I bought this mower and love the power and solidness of it, but with that being said the deck was poorly designed. Any thick grass it doesn't discharge and I've had numerous problems with it leaving streaks (yes, I've tried high lift blades etc). I'm just really disappointed in the cutting job it leaves on our acreage. Our old craftsmen left a better finish.

3rd times a charm!!
After my 3rd try my ZT1 54 is working just fine. I was going to by a used one at TSC but the battery was dead and they didn’t have a replacement battery. I then received a new one but on the first cut the deck stabilizer fell off which shocked the heck out of me. I took it back and TSC replaced it with another brand new one but with issues. At TSC they didn’t have any gas after it ran out while bringing it out to me. After a hefty wait I finally got it home. However, ever since the first new one lost its stabilizing deck bar, every time I hear a rattle underneath it concerns me. I will say that there is a lot of rattling around underneath the frame but I’ve checked it all and can’t find anything loose. I replaced my 50” CC tractor style mower after six years as it was time. I was happy with the performance I had experienced with CC I figured I would stick with the brand. Honestly, I had my concerns afterwards with what I experienced with the CC ZT1 54”. I was actually quite surprised that I never heard from anyone at CC since I sent in my first review. I was a customer with an issue and concern. Oh well!!

Good at first
Made my purchase in June of 2019. Loved the mower and it did a great job the rest of the summer and for the first two cuts of the 2020 season. I have a basic yard in town with few obstacles and no rough cutting. About a month ago, it just decided it wasn’t going to cut anymore. Blades refused to engage. So now my yard is growing out of control while I wait for it to be fixed. Should be a warranty fix but felt discouraged that it didn’t make it a full year without needing to be taken to shop. Hopefully an isolated incident but still frustrating.

Great Cut, Comfortable, and Powerful.
Bought the ZT1 54 yesterday at the Tractor Supply in Durant, OK. I love this machine and I hope to get years of service. I gave my 8 year old Craftsman 46” zero turn to our son. This 54” machine is very powerful and comfortable. I love the way the grass is ejected from the deck. I mow 1 1/2 acres with several trees, a basketball court, a shop building and two storage sheds along with two large veggie gardens. I'm turning this way, that way and around this and that, a lot of obstacles. Today I mowed the property with 6 inch grass. Been raining here quite often, the grass today was dry enough to mow. Honestly, it was hard to see any of the cut grass. The machine does an excellent job ejecting the grass, much better than the craftsman. There was no grass bunched up at all. Our property has a few slight depressions and
about a 100ft long 15 degree embankment. Darn,
this mower did great up and down the
embankment and through the depressions. Very clean even cuts. The old Craftsman has a 22HP Kohler. I hope this 24HP Kohler is as reliable. I also had a John Deere zero turn before the Craftsman. This ZT1 54 has both of them beat. Didn't time the mowing but no doubt it, it was the fastest ever and that's due to the wider 54” cut. I've only mowed once with the new Cub Cadet. I'll get back here in a few months with another review. And I feel like it's going to be a good one.

Love this mower
