Rated 4 out of 5 by from In general a nice mower A nice mower whose main advantage is that it will go through a 3 foot gate & is suited for small yards. Does not have a lot of transmission power & can struggle in reverse when backing up a slight incline. Turning radius is always important but when making very sharp turns the steering/tires can bind. Gas tank could be larger. Frame seems to flex quite a bit when going over rough ground. One main improvement over Cub Cadet mowers of the past is that mulch plug & deck chute install with wing knobs(wing nuts) which is a big improvement over the rubber elastic strap of previous mowers. Seat is comfortable. You can find a less expensive 30" mower but they usually don't have hydrostatic transmission is a big advantage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made rider I've had this rider about a month ago. I think it's well made with Cub Cadet quality. It runs well and allows me to mow forward and in reverse. It covers a lot of ground. My only two suggestions are 1) it needs some anti-scalp wheels on the mowing deck so it doesn't cut too short on rolling lawns, and 2) the front wheels mash down the grass so the mower doesn't mow it as close. These two items cause less than perfect mowing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable I bought this Cub Cadet CC 30 H in June to replace my 30 year old Lawn-Boy RE8E. The seat is great on my back, the automatic transmission is great. It is quiet and cuts nicely and turns on a tight radius. Can't think of anything negative !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needs an anti scalp feature! Love this mower, just the right size, but it needs anti scalp wheels or skids or something.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little Machine Bought my mower about a month ago. I have used it now 5 times. Works great for a small yard that has some tight areas. I also am very pleased with the quality of the cut! Lawn looks great! I used to walk behind a self propelled unit for over an hour, and took two breaks. Now I get done in less than an hour, and I sit down with a COLD ONE and admire my lawn!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All around great mower ! We can’t be happier with our purchase of this Cub Cadet. We added on the grass catcher (perfect) and a trailer too. Our Cub not only gives us a great cut on our lawn but also doubles as a all around work horse for our greenhouse build, gardens and cleanup on our 1.2 acre property, and it’s fun as well. We researched all mowers in this class before purchasing our Cub, overall best mower we found, in addition; we have hills on our property and this Cub was the only one in it’s class that was actually rated for hills, amazing ease of use and comfortable to use. Thanks Cub Cadet

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great riding mower! I purchased this riding mower to make mowing a large yard more enjoyable. After mowing the yard several times, I have discovered that mowing is no longer a long ordeal, but in fact I actually feel energetic after mowing. A great investment in time and energy savings!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I've used my Cub Cadet the past month, and I am very pleased with it. Easy to use, easy to turn, and I love the hose spray feature to clean underneath. One thing that might need improved is when I am using the hose feature, there needs to be a way to get the water off the top of the deck. I don't see any drain holes.Sometimes the rear wheel spins when I'm going up a small incline, but usually I can back up a bit and try a little different angle. Overall, I am very pleased with this mower!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what I want Have had this mower now since middle of July 2020 and it has done what I have wanted from it so far. Two main reasons for picking this style cub was the size and the Hydrostatic Transmission. The mower fit between my trees and the fence nicely in the backyard when cutting, drives through both my gates on either side of my house (10' and 4' gates) and easily stores in my shed. The cut is fine and the mower is easy to clean when lawns are finished. It does take less time then pushing my other cub mower (which is still used for a backup). As with all mowers, there are a few drawbacks, the seat is smooth and slippery like the old vinyl seated cars, the foot areas are also slippery. Both drawbacks can be cured easily with a cloth seat cover and some bathtub non slip strips. Doesn't have good wheel grip in soft sandy areas (my yard). Two problems I have come across so far are that the rack and pinon steering will jump a tooth if you turn to quickly (places the steering wheel off center). Also the Hydrostatic tranny tends to slip when starting forward or reverse movement. Had the dealership look into this, they couldn't duplicate the problem. Found if I play with the pedal it will engage, shouldn't have to do that. Will keep an eye on it.... Overall, if your looking for a small mower that gets the job done, this one will work, not fast, but steady. Will update this review later if needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I bought I have had this mower for a month and a half now and love it. The time it saves is worth the money to me. It is comfortable, easy to drive, and does a wonderful job on the grass. If there is one thing I would change I would add a floating deck.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not Bad Seems to be a well built machine. I bought it because I don't have a lot of space for a 42 in cut mower. It is made for a flat lawn and I found that to be true. I have a few small hills and it doesn't like it. If you have a VERY flat lawn then this could be for you. The deck wash hose connection on the deck has a design defect in the quick disconnect. Leaks all over the top of the deck. I contacted service and they sent me a complete new connect mechanism and it still leaks. It needs an O ring in the male end and there is none. I won't use that feature. With my small hills I don't know that I would buy it if I knew it didn't like them. There is a wire like ring at the back of the machine that disconnects the drive train to enable to push the mower by hand. Seems kind of flimsy to me. I would think they could have designed a better way. All in all not a bad machine. Seems to burn a lot of gas but I'm use to my push mower. I would only recommend it if you have a VERY flat lawn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the mow in reverse is perfect the perfect little rider i went from PONY 42'' cut to this 30'' in cut and i get done in a faster time because this mower cuts in reverse and the troy bilt pony did not what a difference and i can whip it around flowers trees, whatever is in the yard with the hydro stat drive it makes it a lot easier, but i cant complain about the troy bilt it worked flawlessly for 8 years. and still works just wanted a new different rider.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still Going Strong After A Year I have a .33 acre somewhat hilly lot. I'm not a light weight at 270 but the mower pulls me up the hills more than adequately. Fits comfortably in my small shed. Cutting is good, with high spots occasionally being left as the wheels pass over mildly moist grass. Transmission is smooth and requires no attention at all. Bought the bagger and it works well, though adding the countrebalance weight is a bit of a pain. Washout port on the cutting deck is a good positive. We added an electronic Hobbs meter bought on Amazon to keep track of maintenance cycles (ASIN # B01G0CLU2S). Do wish it was easier to get parts, change from mulch to bagging and to service the machine... those are the only true negatives I can think of. Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More A-plus features than nearest competitor. I took delivery on this tractor on 06/07/18 and I’m on my 4 lawn cutting and it’s amazing and flaw less, a great value!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mower for small or bumpy lawns. I like the exercise I get from using a push mower. However, there are times I just want to get the lawn mowed, and as quickly as possible. Also, my lawn has some uneven spots that resulted in ripped up grass and dirt when I used a 42" tractor that someone loaned me last year. The CC 30 H Rider is great for both issues. It cuts over an hour off my normal mowing time, and the cut is narrow enough that it's not affected by the uneven areas in my yard. The mower is easy to start, easy to switch to mowing in reverse, and the safety features make it impossible to step off the mower while the blade is engaged (the mower shuts off). I wish I had purchased this mower last year when I was mowing every three days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied ! I bought this mower in May 2018, I have a .33 acre Lot mostly flat, and this mower is Perfect ! I can get up close to shrubbery and other obstacles with ease, The mow in reverse feature is fantastic for getting around obstacles as well. I can mow my yard in an hour, If I were pushing it with a 20" push mower it would take at least 2 1/2 hours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Mower Bought this mower for my Mother-in-Law. She loves how easy it is to start and mow with. Traditionally it took me about an hour and a half to mow with my self propelled mower. Now it takes half of that with only a fraction of the effort! Looking forward to my second mowing season, as soon as the snow stops!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A bit skeptical at first… I have a fairly large lot and have for decades mowed it by hand because it is on a 10-15º slant. I was going to buy a zero turn thinking it would be better on slopes. I quickly found that was not true. Then I found a review that said the CC 30 handled his yard fine. I have to admit I was a little hesitant the first couple times out, but once I got a decent pattern established all is well. This thing handles it like a champ. There are a few spot I still wouldn't want to try, but I now mow 90% of my lawn with it and the lawn looks better than ever. Very glad I made the purchase, can't wait to mow again!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too Light Weight I have had the mower for about two months (six cuttings). I am disappointed in its inability to operate without spinning one of its back wheels when cutting diagonally across a gentle slope in my yard. The tires have very little tread depth and almost work as if slick. This mower would be great if you had a completely level lot. Also, when using the cleaning port at the end of a cut, water pools in the "valley" of the deck top. There should be a small drain hole or two to prevent this pooling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient Size, Great Power I just got the Cub Cadet CC 30 Rider with the rear engine. I love it! For it's size, it's got great power and the engine is not too loud. I had to cut some really tall and thick grass and not once did the mower bog down. The size of the mower is convenient for fitting it in the back of my Chevy Colorado pickup truck. Of course, I would love to ride one of the big Enduro tractors, but I do have some tight spots to drive around, so the CC 30 is perfect! Smooth running and powerful. And, with the engine in the rear, I don't have exhaust blowing in my face!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Riding Mower Have used the mower for about 2 months, everything works fine. If I have any criticisms it would be the the seat is hot and the port for changing the oil looks very inconvenient.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor design in the Drive Belt Assembly I bought this Lawn mower in 08June 2018. With only 10 hours of running time, the Drive Belt for the hydrostatic transmission burnt off. After disassembly of guard discovered the belt keeper assembly was dislodged from its mount with the belt entangle between the keeper and pulley. Removed the fan and pulley and the (1) and only screw that holds the belt Keeper was missing. I expect the screw came loose as it is only a #10 self tapping screw that is holding the belt Keeper in place. I have ordered another screw but I expect this will be an ongoing problem as I am sure the screw will vibrate loose again causing the belt keeper to pick up on the Drive Belt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the Hydrostatic drive with reverse while cutt I bought it about a month ago at HD. So far I really like it. I have a 90 x 180 lot with a house and a pool so not that much to cut, but I live in Louisiana and it gets really hot in July and August. At 65 I like keeping up my lawn and this will keep me doing that. I had an older 28” snapper rider and this is much easier to get around and cut tight places.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice little hassle free machine Good features, great turning radius. It is a great machine for small-ish and relatively flat yards. It will stuggle on even slightly steep places. Here are the problems that you will come about - the front tires are 'inside' the deck width - so the grasses get flat then doesnot really cut. so you will need to overlap by quite a bit. It will struggle on slopes (even on slight ones - possibly due to lack of weight which in turn makes it a good product on soft/sandy areas). However, it is pretty easy to operate, does what it does pretty well. you will not be dissapointed.
