Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handles everything thrown at it Please understand, i am the owner of 2 IH cub cadet models (169 and 124.) They have been tough tractors that get the work done. I wanted to get a newer garden tractor for a larger property i bought last fall. After doing a lot of homework i chose the XT3 GSX. I have been absolutely floored by the performance and the build quality. Box scrapers, moldboard plowing, snowplows and back blades. It pulls and pushes with ease. It is indeed a super tractor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Super Tractor! I purchased my XT3 GSX in May 2019 and have only owned it for a month. But what a satisfying month it has been! This was a upgrade from a very fine Cub Cadet XS1 ST54 lawn tractor that performed flawlessly, but I wanted a garden tractor with more power, features & capability. This XT3 GSX is my 3rd Cub Cadet in 5 years. And not because they don't perform well, on the contrary they perform so well that I've kept upgrading to the next level! The cut is professional quality, top of the line. The tractor does everything I ask it to without hesitation. The powerful 25hp Kohler engine & Hydro Gear transmission FEEL and are awesome. The power steering is great & the turn radius seems like turning on a dime. The ride is smooth & comfortable. So far it's a Super Tractor in my opinion & well worth the price for what you get.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough I purchased this gsx 1 year ago 4/2018 and i have put it to the test. I haul firewood thru the woods up and down a huge hill. The diff lock has been awesome esspecially with the rain weve had. And it mows great no complaints it has been a very good tractor so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the money Built sturdily and rugged, up to the task at hand. Mows effortlessly and the power steering on GSX is a plus. I was not disappointed with the purchase and you won’t be either. The only fault I find is the need for water/dust proof headlights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Small Tractor I've used my tractor to mow several times now, used the lawn sweeper, and drug around the limb chipper. It really is a great, powerful, easy to use tractor that checks all of the boxes for me. My wife grew up on a farm and can mow better than me at this point, but I will learn how to cut in close and keep the deck level!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from True Garden Tractor, Best in Class I wrote my first review 2 years ago and I'm happy to report that my XT3 GSX is still going strong. Since then, I purchased the Cub Hauler, chains, front weights, wheel weights and sleeve hitch for my Brinly Plow and Brinly Box Scraper...handles both with ease. In fact, it pulls the single bottom plow through heavy clay soil like a hot knife through butter. I use my XT3 as a garden tractor, not just mowing lawn. In fact, mowing the yard is a secondary task I do with the tractor. Its primary use is driveway maintentance using the box scraper and other ground engaging activities. I've hauled several ton of stone up and down my 10 percent grade, 180 foot driveway countless times without issue. The cast iron tranny paired with the BDU-10 hydro has never failed or lacked in power. The tranny in this thing is tough, tough, tough. If traction slips, I engage the diff lock. If you want and need a true garden tractor to do more than than mowing a yard, the XT3 is in a class by itself and a machine you should consider. For the money, nothing compares at its price point and you'll need to pay several thousand dollars more from Cub Cadet's biggest competitor to get shaft drive, cast iron tranny etc. Another thing I like is there are not too many needless silly bells and whistles, just a simple, tough engine, frame and tranny to do the work many other tractors aren't build to handle. In fact, many of the components on this tractor were used on the 3000 series. Look it up if you're not familiar with this line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rugged, value packed, but could use refinement. I purchased my Cub Cadet in June of 2018, along with the 48" fabricated deck, and a previous generation Cub Cadet 48" snowblower, and a sleeve hitch. At this point I have owned it a year, used it through all 4 seasons, and have been very happy with it. The Kohler Command 25 provides plenty of power, with a surprisingly nice exhaust note. The rear-end is among the strongest in the mid-range garden tractor lineup, sitting between the Tuff Torq K66 and K72 in strength. The differential lock, while rarely used, has been indispensable when needed. The 48" fabricated deck does an excellent job cutting, certainly better than anything else I have owned in the past. It's also a tank, weighing in at over 150 pounds, and that makes the electric lift much appreciated. On that note, I never thought the electronic power steering would impress me, but it really has. I didn't think power steering would be so useful, but it really is, especially given the weight of the XT3. In short the XT3 is an excellent mower, can clear snow like a champ, and with the sleeve hitch can use a wide range of implements. This is a true medium-duty garden tractor, and is on par with it's competition while maintaining a lower price. Are there things that could be improved? Absolutely. I wish the controls for the electronic power lift were on the tower, as opposed to the fender. Along with that, the headlights are not sealed, and thus need to regularly be cleaned out, which is a bit inconvenient. Also, there are a few more minor things that could stand improvement. The choke lever could stand to have a return spring, and the 48" fabricated deck really should have rotating anti-scalp wheels. It wouldn't add much to the price, and really would make life easier. Lastly, I wish the headlights had an on-off switch, it's a minor thing given that the lights are LED, but it's still irritating. I want to end with more positives though, and there are many. The seat is very comfortable, and easily adjusted. The tilt-steering is easy to use, and very useful, and the location of the differential lock is right where you want it. The brush guard also does a great job protecting the hood, headlights, and grille. It's a bit heavy, but easy enough to raise and lower, giving access to the hood. The Cub Cadet XT3 GSX is an excellent machine, with some room for improvement, at an excellent price. I can't recommend it enough for someone that needs to step up from a lawn tractor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Annual Parts Replacement 2016 XT3 GSX-Chinese metal used where it matters. Having to replace deck bearings and PTO belt annually. 200 Hours and had to replace PTO Clutch. Grease fittings undersized and pull out after greasing. Fortunately there are aftermarket products at cheaper prices AND "upgraded quality" for reliability available. Save money and time: Don't buy Cub Cadet. The warranty is no good because everything is your abuse and or neglect. You definitely don't get what you paid for.
