When your mower pulls to one side it can make cutting your lawn challenging. There are several potential reasons why this might be happening, so here are five possible causes and solutions for this common problem.
Tire Pressure Imbalance
Improper tire pressure can cause your mower to pull to one side. Check the tire pressure on each tire and make sure they’re inflated to the recommended level outlined in your operator’s manual. Adjust the pressure as needed and see if the issue resolves.
Uneven Cutting Deck
If your cutting deck is misaligned, this can cause your mower to pull to one side. Check the cutting deck for any damage or misalignment. If you notice any issues, consider adjusting the deck to ensure it is level and balanced. This video also will help walk you through aligning your deck.
Worn Steering Components
The components of your zero-turn lawn mower will wear down over time, including those that control the steering. Inspect the steering components and replace if you notice any wear or damage. Remember, Genuine Factory Parts™ replacement parts are the only parts engineered and tested to meet Cub Cadet® original equipment standards. Hydraulic System Malfunction
The hydraulic system controls the movement of the mower’s wheels. Check the hydraulic fluid levels and look for any leaks or damage to the system. Improper Handling
In some cases, the issue may be related to the operator’s handling of the mower. Practice making smooth, even turns as this can help alleviate the pulling issue. This video also can walk you through some of the basics in operating a Cub Cadet® zero-turn lawn mower.
