Rated 4 out of 5 by from New owner My new splitter did everything I hoped it would do. I bought it at home depot, all I had to do was add gasoline and pull the starter rope once and split over two cords of oak. It is time for me to change the engine oil and after I read both manuals I discovered that I have to turn the 500 pound Cub Cadet 25 ton log splitter on its side to drain the oil. I really hope that I have read the manuals wrong. I am sure Cub Cadet would think more of their customers than that. If anyone has a better answer please e-mail me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent and powerful splitter! I've had this splitter going on 2 years and it has never failed to do everything I need it to. I've split 24'' to 26'' 18'' logs with it. The Honda engine is very easy to start and typically starts with 1-2 pulls. The only thing I feel this splitter needs is a handle on the hydraulic cylinder to raise and lower the splitter from horizontal to vertical so I don't have to use the hydraulic line at the top of the cylinder that may damage it later on. This really should be addressed by the manufacturer!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from There was a little more assembly for me to perform than I would have liked , but all and all I like the performance, sturdy but easy to handle.The Honda engine was the deal maker for me, but big complaint is the orientation of the engine to the machine fill/draincap is in a very hard to access location , and I believe I have to either unbolt the engine or tip the machine on its side to drain. What knuclehead designed that?
